This is a small but fine collection of American
quilts for sale with an emphasis on traditional Amish quilts from
Pennsylvania and Ohio (1870 - 1920). |
Quiltgallery |
The private collection of Monika Willi - one of
the oldest Amish quilt collections in Europe - was assembled almost 30
years ago. So far it was displayed in important museums in Switzerland and
France:

The collection stresses abstract design, bold color
combinations and fine workmanship. This group of quilts contains very
traditional quilt patterns such as: Diamond in the Square, Bars,
Inside Border, Sunshine and Shadow, 9-Patch, Star of Bethlehem,
Baskets, as well as unique design creations. It expresses the
spiritual environment and formal inventiveness of the women who produced
these quilts in America at the turn of the 19th to the 20th
century. |
